When a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) operates near beams, ceilings, piping, racking, or other fixed structures, the operator may be caught between the platform guardrail or control panel and an overhead obstruction. Mounted to the platform guardrail, the CY00A003 provides a direct visual and audible warning when its flexible sensing rod contacts a nearby object.

Recommended Installation and Daily Use
- Install at appropriate points on the MEWP platform guardrail; four-corner placement is commonly considered where platform geometry allows.
- Position the top of the sensing rod at least 50 cm (approximately 20 in.) above the operator’s height.
- Point the buzzer opening toward the operator and keep multiple sensing rods at a consistent height.
- Before each shift, verify the contact sensor, LED, buzzer, mounting security, and battery condition.
- Use two AA carbon-zinc batteries. Do not use alkaline batteries, in order to reduce leakage risk.
